Au Pair Moldova publishes a free guide to the German au pair visa for young people in Moldova

Chisinau, Moldova - Au Pair Moldova has published a free guide to the au pair visa for Germany, written for applicants from the Republic of Moldova. It sets out eight steps, from the A1 language certificate to the residence permit, and is part of a resource section for young people from Moldova and Romania who are thinking about going abroad to work, study, volunteer or travel.

Au pair is an international program for young people aged 18 to 30 that lasts from 3 to 12 months. The au pair lives with a host family and spends 5 to 6 hours a day helping with childcare and light housework. In return, the family provides a private room, meals, health insurance, pocket money and the chance to attend language classes. Days off, holidays and public holidays remain the au pair's own time.

To take part, applicants need a Moldovan or Romanian passport and at least A2-level English, German or French, and they must be unmarried. The destinations covered on the site include Germany, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, China and the United States.

The new Germany guide goes through the steps in the order they happen in practice, including the visa application at the German Embassy in Chisinau. Germany sets its own age limit for this visa: applicants must be between 18 and 26.

For readers who have not yet decided where to go, the guides on the site are arranged in four stages: choosing a path; getting ready, which covers documents, visas, languages and budget; living in the new country; and coming back home.

"Many young people want to go, but they don't know where to start. We put the steps in order so that everyone can check for themselves which documents they need and what to expect," says the Au Pair Moldova team.

Alongside the guides, the site offers free tools: a Schengen calculator for the 90/180-day rule, a travel budget calculator and a "Where can I fly this weekend?" tool. A catalog of youth programs, covering au pair, work and travel, study and scholarships, volunteering and internships, can be filtered by passport, destination and age. A one-minute quiz helps people who are still undecided find a starting point.

The full guide and the other resources are available free of charge in Romanian and Russian at https://aupair.md/ghiduri.
