London, UK — 4 November 2026 — Pressbox today announced the relaunch of its publishing platform, bringing company newsrooms and its public AI News Wire into a broader strategy for fully managed bespoke media distribution and deeper connections with AI platforms.

Operated by Yamu Ltd, the platform integrates permanent company newsrooms with a public AI News Wire that compatible AI applications can search for published announcements and their source details. The next phase will continue to connect that foundation with managed outreach and plugins for all global AI tools people use to prepare and discover news.

Building on a publishing history that began in 1999, Pressbox is developing a connected news ecosystem that combines fully managed bespoke distribution with a roadmap for deep AI integrations and plugins. Its ambition is to make relevance, clear sources and trusted editorial relationships the foundations of the next era of PR.

The company is challenging the volume-led “spray and pray” approach to distribution. Its strategy starts with the story, the intended audience and the journalist’s editorial interests, with the aim of making each approach more useful and reducing irrelevant outreach.

Simon Roberts, of Pressbox, said: “The future of PR should be judged by relevance and trust. Journalists deserve useful information, clear sources and respect for their time. We are building Pressbox around that relationship, with AI helping to connect news to the people who can use it.”

Journalists at the centre

Pressbox sees journalists as active participants in this ecosystem. Its approach is designed to help newsrooms assess announcements, identify the organisation behind a claim and reach the original source for further information. Journalists can record the subjects they cover and the kinds of approaches they welcome, while opt-outs and editorial independence remain central to the service.

For organisations, the forthcoming bespoke distribution service is designed to manage the process from a focused announcement through relevant media outreach and reporting. Matching by subject and geography supports that approach, helping an organisation reach journalists whose work relates to its news.

Supporting this model is an international media database spanning 31 countries, with national, regional and specialist publications alongside broadcast and digital outlets. Pressbox intends to use that breadth selectively, shaping distribution around each announcement and the editorial audiences it could serve.

Connecting news with the AI platforms of the future

Pressbox’s development roadmap includes deeper integrations and plugins for leading AI assistants, connecting the preparation of news with review, publication, discovery and managed distribution. The aim is to let organisations work through the AI tools they already use while retaining control over their facts, publication decisions and outreach.

That direction builds on permanent release pages, company newsrooms and structured news sources already available through Pressbox. These give journalists and compatible AI applications a consistent place to find an original announcement, its publication date and its source details.

As AI becomes part of the way news is found and understood, Pressbox’s position is that the value of original reporting, identifiable sources and editorial judgement should become more visible. The platform is being developed to support those relationships and make the origin of an announcement easier to trace.

Its reporting also separates publication, distribution and independent editorial coverage, giving organisations a clearer account of what happened. A distribution purchase never guarantees a journalist’s endorsement or coverage.

Pressbox is inviting journalists, publishers and communications professionals to help shape this next chapter, with feedback on what makes an approach relevant, what source information is useful and how technology can better serve the relationship between PR and the newsroom.

Free browser-based publishing is available now. Managed distribution and deeper account integrations are being introduced in stages, with current availability published at pressbox.com.
