TopickZ has published the 2026 SaaS Pricing Cliff Report, which analyzes 466 business-to-business software-as-a-service tools across 10 categories and finds that 121 tools, or 26%, do not publicly display their pricing. The finding matters to software buyers, procurement teams and budget planners because missing public prices limit the information available for initial cost comparisons.
The report focuses attention on a practical issue in software purchasing: businesses cannot make a complete public-price comparison when some of the tools under consideration do not display prices. In the report’s sample, that information gap affects approximately one in four tools.
For businesses building a software shortlist, the finding highlights the need to distinguish between products with publicly available pricing and those for which pricing information must be obtained separately. Buyers considering tools without public prices may need to allow for additional information gathering before completing a budget estimate or cost comparison.
The finding concerns pricing visibility, not the price or value of the software itself. An absence of public pricing does not, on its own, establish that a tool is more expensive or less suitable than an alternative.
