KING OF PRUSSIA, PA, November 2, 2026 - Virtina, an eCommerce partner for B2B and B2C brands, updated its B2B Ecommerce Development Guide for Manufacturers on October 22, 2026. The guide is free to read at https://virtina.com/b2b-ecommerce-development-guide-manufacturers/

"Manufacturers don't have to rebuild everything at once," said Gigi JK, Founder of Virtina. "Start with the buyers and processes you already have, then add quotes, reorders and integrations in phases."

The guide is about a nine-minute read. It is organised into 19 sections, each framed as a question a manufacturer asks when planning an online store. Topics include customer-specific pricing, quote handling, ERP integration, net terms, product catalog structure, security, and how to measure results.

Manufacturers sell differently from retailers. Prices differ by customer. Many orders begin as quote requests. Account data sits in an ERP system. The guide starts from those facts. Gartner's March 2026 sales survey found that 67% of B2B buyers prefer a rep-free buying experience (Gartner press release, March 9, 2026). That is the buyer behaviour the guide plans for: self-service quotes, reorders and account pricing for standard items, with a person still handling custom parts.

It compares four platforms: WooCommerce, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, and Shopify Plus. It also covers how public, hidden, or starting-price display affects sales and search.

On quotes, the guide describes taking requests by form or chat. Standard items can get an instant answer. Custom parts go to a person. On payment, it explains that net terms need a credit check and approval before a buyer is offered them.

The rollout section gives four steps:

1. Map current buyers, products, and pricing rules.

2. Run a pilot with a few key accounts.

3. Add quotes, reorders, and integrations in phases.

4. Train the sales team and measure adoption.

The guide includes an illustrative example of a manufacturer with 4,000 parts and 300 active accounts, starting with a pilot of twenty large accounts. It is an example, not a client result.

The guide draws on Virtina's B2B client work. According to client testimonials published on virtina.com, Robert Rinker, Founder of MM-Source, reported 22.5% revenue growth in nine months after working with Virtina. Paul Rhoads, Vice President at Energy Pricing, reported a 7.1% conversion rate, against a 2.5% industry average. These are client-reported figures. In November 2025, Virtina also set up a dedicated wholesale buying experience for The Fruitful Grind and completed a multi-storefront migration for Klein Electronics.

The guide was first published on October 21, 2026 and last updated on October 22, 2026. It ends with a six-question FAQ. For measuring results, it suggests five indicators: online order share, average order value, repeat order rate, time to quote, and support calls avoided.
